Leland Martin (fiddle) and Conor Hearn (guitar) met while playing tunes in the Boston session scene in 2017 and have played together since at a variety of venues including the Boston Celtic Music Festival.
Conor, also a member of the acclaimed duo Rakish, grew up playing fiddle and guitar at the Irish sessions of Washington D.C. and has earned a strong reputation as a cutting-edge Scottish and Irish style musician and accompanist.
Leland has been playing a multitude of traditional fiddle styles for almost 25 years and has been known to have a significant mental library of old and sometimes eclectic tunes. Leland has recently released an album of compositions and traditional tunes, Moonlighter, which includes the talents of Conor, McKinley James, and Neil Pearlman and was produced by Katie McNally.
For this show, Conor and Leland will bring you a few samples from Moonlighter as well as a fun selection of New England, Irish, Scottish, and Quebecois tunes, including some old classics, new favorites, and rare finds from the annals of traditional folks music.
